1. PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT AND THE EXPECTED RESULTS OF THE PROJECT

Purpose of the project: To reveal the basic tendencies of the development of the coatings market both in whole and according to separate segments, and to create quantitative and qualitative forecasts of the coatings industry development in Russia up to 2015.

Results of the research will give the coatings producers the opportunity:
  • To develop the effective strategy of positioning in coatings materials market during crisis and post-crisis pe-riod;
  • To create the forecasts of the production and sales of coatings in accordance with prospective require-ments of the branches-consumers to form the effective assortment policy;
  • To create competent price policy in accordance with the prospective coatings market structure taking into account price niches;
  • To work out the effective concept to promote coatings materials in the Russian market up to 2015;
  • To plan the strategy of raw materials purchases to produce paint and coatings materials according to the tendencies of changes of the raw materials market;
  • To make plans to modernize the production of coatings according to the market requirements up to 2015;
  • To find out possible ways of the development of science and technical advance in the field of coatings technology up to 2015.

In order to compare the Russian coatings market figures taken from the official sources with the data given by the experts, marketing research: "Tendencies of the development of coatings industry up to 2015" will be made in two stages:

I stage: secondary research of the Russian coatings market. Collecting information about the Russian coatings market from the open sources

II stage: primary research of the Russian coatings market.
